Summer Plans

Having had no school today, J had a little taste of summer vacation and spent some time at the home of the ever so lovely H..  He could not have been more delighted to be there, and it certainly got him thinking ahead about summer break.  Our conversation on the way home...

J:  I want to have summer school at our house.

Me:  Oh, yeah?

J:  Yeah, I was thinking Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning.

Me:  Okay.  What do you want to learn?

J:  Well, I want to start with World War I and then do World War II.  After that we can learn about American Indians.  I'm also interested in learning more about the African American culture, too.  And then animals and a few projects.

I guess we're in for a busy summer.  With only about seven weeks of J's kindergarten year remaining, I better start planning.

What a stud! I love that he loves to learn and that he such an "outside the box" thinker. Truly a gem, you are Mr. J!
