The Final Countdown

School's almost out for summer, and I am one excited mama.
Downright giddy, in fact.

We've been chanting the final countdown these days, and we are now down to, "Two more days!  Two more days!  Two more days!"

I cannot wait to wave goodbye to the school schedule that we're all pretty tired of

and spend some more time with my handsome boy.

He's pretty excited too, but he's holding back some of his smiles right now.

Sometimes he just thinks too much.

For example, our conversation tonight:

Me:  In two days, you are not going to be a kindergartener anymore!  Can you believe it?

J:  Well, I'm a little worried that I didn't pass and won't advance.

I gave him a look something like this...

Me:  What?  Of course you passed.  Why don't you think you passed?

J:  Well, I think I did.  I'd say there's a pretty good chance, like 80 or maybe even 88 percent chance that I did.  But that's not 100 percent, so you never know.

It took a little convincing and some pretty solid proof that he will be advancing to the first grade (i.e. I already know whose first grade classroom he's assigned to), but then he was all smiles.

(Totally off the subject, but am I the only one who thinks he really looks like my brother, M, in this picture?)

Hey, Summer...

Bring it on.

We're ready for you.

WOW!! I would have NEVER said J looks like M, but he really does in that picture. the angle must have just been perfect because they have such different shaped faces.
Regardless....I LOVE these pics of J! They really capture him and his personality. He is just shining through!
