E the Judger

The kids were playing so nicely together with their Lego minifigures the other day when I overheard E say, "Let's pretend this girl makes bad choices."  A few moments later she said, "She was smoking cigarettes."

Second Grade

Well, two weeks of school are in the books.  We've had far less tears at our house this year than the last, so that's a bonus.  I was so, so sad (still am) to see our remarkably fun summer come to an end.

Sticking with tradition, J and I went on a date the day before school.  Dad even was able to join us for lunch, Morrill Hall, and miniature golf.

I had good intentions of putting together a video every year (here's the one from kindergarten), but some how that didn't happen last year.  I guess that permanently drops me out of the running for the Supermom award.  Oh well, the every other year thing works too.

Bursting with Determination

Last night E came running in the house asking to have her training wheels removed from her bike.  I questioned this a bit, but she was determined.  So off they went.

Here she is 24 hours later...

E was so excited when she got started all by herself that she let out an involuntary girly scream.  She could hardly wait to demonstrate her new skills to Daddy and J.  She proudly exclaimed, "They're going to be so impressed!"

We love you and your determined spirit, E!

Goodbye, Cayman

Apparently if you never have to stop swim-dancing and get out of the pool to get your own rum punch (Thank you, Steve...I think.), you don't realize how much you've actually had to drink until it's much too late.  As a result, the kids spent the next morning at the pool with their grandparents while Steve took a group on an island tour.  I needed a little more sleep.

The afternoon turned quite stormy, so we went for a little drive up to Rum Point.
We were so thankful the rain didn't arrive a day earlier.
After driving past this sign several times, we decided to stop.  How could we pass up this photo op?

That dangler finally fell out...

And it turns out that the tooth fairy brings Cayman money.  She didn't bother to do the conversion, so J ended up with a bit more cash than if he would have lost that baby at home.

The following day was spent at the beach, pool, a (stupid) timeshare spiel (I think I'll just pay for the Stingray City trip next time instead), and Starfish Point.

Returning many of our shells back to the sea...

J wanted the camera...
Watch your step!
