Dress for Success

Dressed in a dress.

This is E's preferred style of clothing regardless of the weather.

She was delighted when I slipped this little number over her head and said, "This will look fantastic on the beach this summer!"

Quickly responding in a correcting tone, she said, "This looks fantastic right now."

That it does, little miss.  That it does.

So with her fantastic dress,

uncombed locks,

and the PBS Kids website,

she carried on with her ordinary day.

All in a day's work...
if you're E.

Technical Difficulties

I've been capturing more of the ordinary, but for some reason I'm not able to upload any photos to Blogger unless they're off my phone.  There's no "Browse" icon to click on.  Anyone else having this problem?

Chocolate

We found the golden ticket!

We finished the book this afternoon, so we're enjoying one heck of a chocolate party at our house tonight.

It's a good thing we didn't have any lofty resolutions related to better nutrition.  We're just going to look like Augustus Gloop after we're done eating all of this.

The only thing better than this would be a river of chocolate.

Every Single Day

Lost in his imaginary football world of games and leagues,
our boy makes countless trips up and down the short hallway
every
single
day.

Resolution Shmesolution

Who needs one anyway?

Well, if you've got to know the truth, I need one...or ten.

If I were going to fall into that overdone resolution trap, I'd definitely be focusing on organization, praying, improved nutrition, blogging, consistent physical activity, deeper relationships, Bible reading, blah, blah, blah.

Instead, I'm choosing not to pile on the pressure by adding more unrealistic, personal expectations to my already mile-high pile.

All of those resolutions and expectations just muddy up my view of all the fantastic blessings right before my eyes.

Things like E marveling at her collection of randomness amongst the "my stuff's 'organized' just the way I like it" mess in her room,

or J learning in awe how to send messages on the iPod.

Taking the time to really see the overlooked beauty in the ordinarily simple, everyday stuff will be better than any resolution.

I'm sure of it.
