My Assistant

Helping me get my camera warmed up is part of E's job description as my photography assistant.

And a fine and beautiful assistant she is...even when her hair is uncombed and her clothes don't really match.
Love her!

Bubble Room

It didn't take me an entire year to complete E's room (close enough though), but it has taken that long for me to remember that I never posted pictures of the finished product.  I've always been a procrastinator, but lately I've been just plain forgetful.  In fact, I just found J's birthday thank yous that I apparently never distributed.  His birthday is in February.  I seriously think I'm losing my mind.  Anyway...

She loves her bubble room!

I love this picture that she painted all by herself.

Next project:  Intervention for her (my?) obvious shoe addiction.

Thanks for the Smile, E!

Unexpected things crack me up sometimes...
like finding my baby girl sleeping with a winter hat on a ninety degree day.

A Sure Way to Make Any Day Better...

I Believe

I believe in Jesus.
I believe God is good all the time.
I believe there is something so, so much better for me after this earthly life.
I believe God cares.
I believe He alone can give me everything I need.
I believe God loves me.
I believe that I am blessed.
I believe Jesus gives me hope and eternal life because He paid the price on the cross.
I believe His plan and timing are perfect, perfect, perfect.
I believe all the details of this perfect plan will be revealed to me someday when I see Jesus face-to-face.
I believe that's going to be one glorious day.

Even though I firmly believe all of these things to be true, tears still fall.
Even with God by my side, every single thing about this still sucks.
Even though I know there's a reason, I still am asking, "Why?"
Even though I witnessed amazing strength, love, and an indescribable sense of togetherness, my heart still breaks for so many people I dearly love.

I am reminded that there are some really, really good people in this world.
I am reminded that life can change so quickly.
I am reminded that God works through His sons and daughters.
I am reminded to slow down and enjoy the moment.
I am reminded to say, "I love you."
I am reminded that nothing on this planet can replace strong relationships.
I am reminded to use my talents and passions to glorify God.
I am reminded that being a mom is a blessing and a responsibility.
I am reminded to be grateful in all things.
I am reminded to love on my babies even more.
I am reminded that one person can positively impact the lives of many.
I am reminded to strive to be that person.

I always knew Anthony was a good one, but after hearing more about him from those who knew him best, it's even more evident that he truly was a great guy.  It's such a blessing to have known a genuinely good man who positively impacted the lives of so many people.

Even as you dance with Jesus, you're still making this world a better place.  You'll be missed, Anthony.

Our Apologies

Dear H (the greatest daycare provider ever),

Please accept our early apologies for any whining or lack of self control that will likely be occurring tomorrow.  Mondays are traditionally a little more challenging, but this one might be a real doozy.  Our favorite hometown only celebrates its 125th birthday once, and you know how much we like celebrations.  The (really) late nights, multiple snow cones, fireworks, parades, inflatables, family time, friendly visits, and dietary absence of fruits or vegetables has left us with little reserve to start the week.  So sorry in advance.  Even though it might not feel like it tomorrow, we really do love you!

Sincerely,
J & E
